On September 28th, 2015, a Falcon 9 rocket with a Dragon spacecraft on top of it launched successfully and now is the first privately funded company to put cargo into orbit.
This was followed by the follow on the launch of Turkmenistan’s communication satellite Gostav-T1 in April 2016.
The rockets are now almost fully reusable and it is estimated that they can save $700 million over their lifetime.
